Your role:
- As a member of a software team, you contribute to the development of the new generation of gateway applications and services. You will be primarily developing embedded software (user applications, device drivers or kernel modules), but PC applications can be on the radar as well. Advanced Linux-based tooling supports the development process.
- You perform feasibility studies, define the software architecture and provide inputs for the creation of software development plans.
- You develop software in a development team, in close collaboration with systems architects, test engineers and project managers.
- You may be involved in one or more projects, depending on your skill level and experience.
Your profile:
- You hold a Masters degree in Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology.
- You are experienced in the following programming languages, or have proven capable of getting up-to-speed quickly: C/C++/Java in a Linux environment.
- You have experience with embedded Linux.
- You have knowledge of development systems: Linux/Unix, ClearCase, zsh, bash, etc.
- You are familiar with the following software concepts: multi-threading, network programming, client-server applications.
- You have experience with the following tool chains: GNU (gcc, gdb), Lauterbach/JTAG.
- You are a team player, with excellent communication skills.
- You are fluent in English (writing and speaking); speaking Dutch and French is a plus.
- You have an analytical mind and great problem solving skills.
- You can work autonomously.
- You are stress-resistant.
- Experience and/or know-how in the following areas is considered a plus:
o Interface technologies: Ethernet, USB, xDSL, WLAN, ATM
o Networking: TCP/UDP/IP, PPP, NAT, QoS, DHCP, DNS, Firewall
o Management: TR-069, SNMP, TR-064/UPnP, SQL DB
o VOIP: SIP, MGCP, H323, VOIP DSP drivers, DeCT, UMTS, GPRS
o Multimedia content delivery: UPnP AV, Samba, IP-TV, DLNA
o Web 2.0 technologies: AJAX Frameworks (BackBase, ExtJS, Prototype, DOJO, GWT), Service Side Scripting (LUA Script, PHP), Standards (HTML5/CSS2, XML, XSLT, XPATH, JavaScript)
