Responsibilities:
As QACC engineer you will participate to the execution of test cycles for the validation of gateway devices tailor made to suit a customer's requirements. The typical customer is a tier 1 telecom operator. Our customers our located world wide, but the major part is located within Europe.
You will also investigate issues reported by that customer during the acceptance phase or after field deployment of a product. Basically, you will study design documents and define test cases that are covering the full functionality of the described features. At a second stage, you will also execute these test cases yourself and report to either the R&D project manager and/or the QACC technical lead that are assigned to the same project.
Our activities are spread out over our 3 R&D sites worldwide: Edegem (B), Beijing (PRC) and Indianapolis (USA). So, you must be able to function correctly in multi-site and multi-cultural project team. You are located in Edegem, Belgium.
Your responsibility is to ensure that all non-compliances in parts of the product as assigned to you get reported in an early stage of the test phase, the sooner the better.

Education:
Master of Computer Sciences, Electronics of Informatics
Experience:
Some earlier experiences in the field of SW testing for telecommunications equipment shall be considered as an advantage
Technical skills:
- Understanding of common OS and SW concepts
- Basic understanding of the following technologies: Ethernet, VLAN, 802.11, USB, ATM and DSL
- Knowledge of cable technologies might be an asset (Docsis, MoCA)
- Good understanding of TCP/IP (incl. NAT, ALG, VPN, UPnP, DNS, DHCP)
- Some hands on experience with IP routers and IP networks in general
- Understanding basic concepts of the following applications: VoIP (SIP/MGCP), IPTV (IGMP/multicast) and DLNA/UPnP AV
- Any experience with following test tooling is a plus: Wireshark, Smartbits, IPerf, Omnipeek and Chariot
- Familiar with scripting languages in general, with specific interest for TCL and Bash
Language:
Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of one or more of the following languages could be considered as an advantage: French, Italian, Spanish and Chinese

- Real interest in Internet, computers and modern telecommunication technologies in general
- Likes to get challenged
- Communicative and extravert
- You might have to travel for business on occasions. The duration of those trips should typically be less than 2 weeks and their frequency would certainly be limited to only a few a year
