The Group conducts extensive research and development activities to innovate and to support its solutions to the Communication, Media & Entertainment industries.
Technicolor is forming an Advanced Development Center. The ADC will lead the development of new and innovative products selected by Technicolor's senior management in order to improve efficiency, quality, to reduce Intellectual Property Risk and to Collaborate on « transversal » projects to enforce Software Engineering policy
Reporting to the leader of the Software Competency Center within the Advanced Development Center, the job holder will be located at Rennes or Edegem.
The Linux Architect will be responsible for:
- Creating, testing, and maintaining a distribution of re-usable software libraries that will be shared throughout Technicolor's products.
- The initial focus is on the products with embedded software (e.g., STBs, Home Gateways, Media Gateways) as the core of this distribution is the linux kernel, common applications, and drivers.
- The successful candidate in this position would have a clear understanding and familiarity with linux kernel and driver programming.
- The applicant must also be familiar with kernel configuration and shell scripting.
Profile:
Education:
- A BSCS or equivalent
Experience:
5+ years of experience
Language:
Fluent in French and English
Key competences:
- Experience with linux kernel architecture and hardware adaptations
- Experience with driver-level interfaces in linux
- Expert Shell Programmer
- Expert in C and real-time multi-tasking including interrupt processing.
- The following would be advantages to the successful candidate:
o Development experience with ST's linux distribution
o Familiarity with multi-processor and multi-core designs.
