For its unit Information Systems IS, located in Hoboken (Belgium), Umicore is currently looking for a Senior Business Consultant SAP.
You assure the delivery of new SAP business solutions for a Umicore Business Unit or a Shared Operational function. Project Delivery is a global function, delivering new business solutions worldwide, based on given specifications and within the agreed timing and budget and this through efficient use of human, material and financial assets.
Job description:
- You deliver expert application consulting services to IS and key customers
- You develop an in-depth knowledge of specific software environments
- You assume ownership of the application platform for key customer solutions or specific software components
- You provide advice to Business Analysts and Project Leaders in area of expertise
- You set guidelines and develop procedures in area of expertise
- You negotiate with suppliers and ensure accurate delivery of third party services
- You coordinate people and tasks on specific assignments
- You take a leading role in the Delivery of New Business Processes & Solutions, execute project analysis and design and implement solutions (including user acceptance testing and Go Live preparation, Final Go Live and initial User support and follow-up)
Responsibilities:
Manage & Control:
- You manage SAP access controls, designing and building new authorization roles and maintaining existing ones, based on the authorization model and toolset, compliant with applicable change policies, security guidelines and SOD procedures, so that users have appropriate access to the SAP systems and Umicore information integrity and confidentiality is preserved at all times. (50%)
- You manage the application change control program, monitoring compliance with change and release management policies and procedures, in order to ensure system stability and data integrity. (10%)
- You manage the application toolset consisting of SAP Solution Manager and Remedy, in order to maintain and improve the consistency of the application management processes implemented. (20%)
- You manage implementation projects as a project manager responsible for Project Delivery, including scope, time, budget, people, resources and business change management. (20%)
As a role administrator, to own and manage the SAP authorization model ensuring that authorizations are built and distributed in full compliance with the applicable change policies, security guidelines and SOD procedures.
The main duties of the role administrator are:
- to update existing tasks and roles
- to maintain the codification document that is used to describe the domain delimiters of a derived task
- to create new tasks and functions and update the information in the CSI/accelerator tool
- to ensure that the adapted tasks and functions remain SOD free and code the SOD rules in the CSI/accelerator
- to ensure that no system activities/tasks are mixed with functional activities/tasks
- to transport the modified or newly created tasks and functions to the quality system and production system by following the existing change management procedures
- to ensure that a change is supported by all relevant role owners in case adaptations to a master function are required
- to improve access control on legacy systems in line with audit recommendations
Profile:
Functional & Technical requirements:
- You have a Master degree in information technology, applied computer sciences, applied economics, or related field.
- You are an experienced Project Manager.
- Terms like Business Process Improvement, system design, emerging technology monitoring, software development, research, testing & innovation are part of your professional skills.
- You are a functional and technical SAP application expert
- You are able to supervise SAP specialist technical consultancy
- You have thorough knowledge of SAP access controls and application security
- You have thorough knowledge of business processes and internal controls
- You have good knowledge of audit and risk principles, especially related to segregation of duties
- Demonstrated technical experience in profile generator (PFCG)
- Demonstrated technical experience deploying SAP GRC access controls is an asset
- Strong technical and leadership skills, being able to position yourself as the technical expert and ability to enforce compliance with standards and policies are terms that define you.

- Fluent in local language and English; knowledge of other EU languages.
