Senior Unix Engineer / Architect

Your Role:
The Unix Technical Services team is responsible for the 3rd level support of 660+ IBM AIX, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux servers running various applications. The team is also responsible for architectural designs for projects using Unix as well as accountable and responsible for the stability of Unix environments.
Your tasks will include:
- Provide 3rd level support of all IBM AIX based servers and foundation applications (VAS & Powerbroker) within Euroclear.
- Investigate and resolve Support Tickets escalated from 2nd Level.
- Review and signoff documentation for Projects that requires AIX environments.
- Produce documentation (Architectural Designs) for new projects that requires AIX environments.
- Participate with project, team, CANs, ECRs and other essential meetings required for production stability.
- Participate with the evolution of AIX by testing new products and patches.
- Participate with WatchDuty and other team activities.
Your Profile:
Essential technical skills/experience:
A minimum of 3 years experience is required in the following areas:
- Operating systems/software: (IBM AIX 5.x; IBM HACMP, VIOS, TCP/ IP Networking;
- Software and Hardware RAID Products,
- automated system builds via NIM,
- Enterprise backup software (Tivoli Storage Manager, etc.)
Additional technical skills/experience:
Highly desirable: Security tools and concepts (SSH, SSL, PKI, etc.); WEB/ E-Business technologies (LDAP, Apache, Websphere, etc.); financial services / controlled environment exposure (due the sensitive nature of our business, Euroclear systems are subject to tight change control procedures. A familiarity with and understanding of the need for these types of controls would be a definite plus).
Useful: Oracle, IBM MQSeries, Sterling Commerce Connect: Ddirect for Unix/ NT; NetIQ Monitoring/ Security Manager, PowerBroker v4.x and up, Vintela Authentification Services (VAS) v3.x
Ability to use the following products is required for day-to-day tasks: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Products, CDE/X
Hardware: knowledge of IBM P-Series hardware families
