Your Role:
An opportunity exists within the Infrastructure and Environment Management Team for an organised individual possessing strong analytical skills.
The team is responsible for the provision of transversal automated solutions, including proprietary tooling, to facilitate the reliable and timely delivery of primarily business-driven developments.
The automation supports both minor developments and highly resourced and highly visible projects critical to the future of the company.
As such you will bring strong analytical and problem solving skills to the role, be of a flexible mindset and be committed to quality in a complex, challenging and fluid environment.
The team manages tooling whose functionality includes, but is not limited to:
Initialisation of the environment framework for new development/test environments;
Provision for (re)creation and execution of complex test scenarios;
Support for the above at all stages of the development lifecycle;
Support for environment usage through delivery of test activities or regression packs automation
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the validity and scope of new requirements;
- Assessing the impact on the tooling of both business- and technically-driven requests for change;
- The design and build of solutions in conjunction with the various stakeholders - Systems, Middleware (CICS, DB2, MQ, File Transfer), Security, Test Integration, Production Integration;
- Coordinating the testing of the solutions to ensure the acceptance of the various stakeholders;
- Overseeing the deployment of design solutions;
- Execution, or coordination of the execution, of tooling supporting the team's functional responsibilities.
Your Profile:
You will have a strong development background in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
Core skills required for this position include Rexx, ISPF Dialog Development, SAS fundamentals, DB2 (DDL, DML, SQL), DB2 Utilities, JCL, IBM Utilities.
Experience in these areas is desirable, but on-the-job support will be provided to those with the willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
Knowledge of CA7, MQ Series, Connect:Direct, RACF and Cortex administration as well as development experience of Changeman, CICS, PL/1 and COBOL are also considered an asset.
You will also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to negotiate with the various stakeholders to deliver design solutions that successfully cater to apparently conflicting requirements. You should have strong (oral and written) communication skills and have a good command of English.
