We are currently looking for CPE Engineers to reinforce our Telecom & Media Community.
Function description:
The testing engineer will be involved in a large set of tasks, all in the environment of Residential Gateway Customer Premises Equipment, used for offering Triple Play Services : Fast Internet, IDTV and VOIP. As a non exhaustive list find following tasks to be performed :
- Analyze and translate technical specifications into test configurations.
- Sequentially set-up of the verification environment
- Write the covering test cases ready for usage
- Perform the tests and report on the status
- Write and track error reports in your functional area.
- Deploy the tests by making use of an automated test system.
- Set-up and coordinate equipment vendor contacts to solve reported errors or find workarounds.
- Support the "Engineering" department, the "Operations" requests covering the complex errors and customer complaints.
Job requirements
- Degree in computer science (i.e. Master) or an equivalent qualification with proven expertise in the field of system testing of commercial software packages
- Expertise/Knowledge and strong interest to evolve in the following domains:
Solution Verification Test :
§ Troubleshooting
§ Structural way of handling errors
Networking (General) :
§ DSL flavours general (ADSL,SHDSL,VDSL,SDSL)
§ Data link layer protocols : MAC - ATM - Ethernet
10/100/1000 Base-T - PPP - MPLS.
§ General IP networking/routing
§ Server technology protocols, gateways, routers, firewalls,
servers, backbones.
§ Unicast/Multicast/Broadcast
§ QoS on L2 and L3 networks.
Certification:
CCNA - CCNP - CCIP - CCIE or equal thru experience.
IP networking (Specific) :
§ TCP/IP, UDP, TCP, DNS, DHCP, SOAP, XML / HTML,
HTTP(s), FTP, SNMP RAS,VOIP SIP signaling, TR 69
remote management protocols
General digital video know-how (DVB/MPEG2/MPEG4 - TV
standards (PAL, VBI,)-(RTSP).
Scripting: Unix shell scripting, PERL, ...
- Protocol simulators / analyzers/emulators/traffic generator (Ethereal, IPSL,Spirent, ...)
- Fluent English, in spoken and written form, preferably also a good knowledge of French or Dutch.
