We are currently seeking one
Experienced System Administrator
to support our IT team into, remote maintenance, operations and enhancements of an IT system located in a Datacenter.
Your role
This position will be will be responsible for Unix/Linux platform support of our infrastructure, with strong knowledge on Security areas and open software developments.We are in need of an individual that can handle, administration and operations, including small design and development of system enhancements based on open software tools. This position will be responsible for operation/training/documentation of our infrastructure on the system side. The individual applying for this position must be highly motivated.
Functions and skills of this position include:
- Strong AIX (or Unix) and Linux system administration skills;
- Security on AIX/Unix/Linux platform;
- Scripting skills (Perl, minimum shell and batch) and open source development experience (Apache, MySQL, Nagios, PHP, Javascript);
- LDAP Directory administration and operations;
- Basic Windows 2003 system administration is an important plus;
- SAN administration and operation knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree from accredited institution with relevant coursework;
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience required;
- Verbal and written communication skills in English, Dutch and French;
- Strong customer service orientation in assisting employees/staff;
- Motivated to perform effectively/efficiently in a high work volume environment both individually and as part of a diverse team;
- Ability to adapt well in a changing environment. Flexible and non-judgmental;
- Posses highly developed attention to detail and skills necessary to document processes and procedures;
- Posses a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to motivate a team to meet deadlines and deliverables;
- Possesses the ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences via effective proposals, reports, written communication and oral presentations.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form;
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables to arrive at solutions within a defined set of procedures, monitoring system or when no defined set of guidelines may exist;
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions;
- Ability to analyze solutions' options, including design guidelines, and present it to supervisors;
- Ability to document technical information into structured deliverables;
- Thorough knowledge of project management principles and methodologies;
- Well versed in the field's concepts, practices, and procedures;
