After I graduated in 2008 as a commercial engineer information systems I went on a mission to DR Congo to first work as a volunteer for local NGO's. This allowed me to see another part of the world and after 7 months I started to travel around DRC on my own for the next 8 months.
DRC isn't the easiest country to travel through so you encounter a lot of hassle. Good negotiation skills are necessary to deal with local law enforcement and people with bad intentions. My trip over there was a constant master class communication and interpersonal skills. I'm not afraid of challenges, otherwise I wouldn't have started in the first
place. As a commercial engineer, analytical skills are in my veins together with a strongly result oriented approach and problem solving apabilities.
Now it is time to take the next step in my career. I believe a job as consultant that combines finance/management and IT is ideal for me. That combination was what made me choose for commercial engineering information systems in the first place. Working in an international environment is a plus for me. I'm very flexible so a project abroad wouldn't scare me, even for longer periods of time.
I maybe lack the work experience but I think I can make it up with the life experience I gathered on my trip and an eagerness to learn together with a lot of enthusiasm for the job.
