Started as Global Support Manager at Ubizen, a fast growing provider of internet security services and materials to global customers. Goal was to develop a global support team and services. This function is changed, due to the changes on the market (Internet Bubble) to following combination of tasks:
?1. Product Manager / Vendor Manager:
To manage, develop and negotiate the commercial and technical relationship and contracts with the different vendors of security products To be the single point of contact with the vendors on all levels: from C-level to Account Management and Support Management. Taking care of price / discount requests on special, important project deals. To direct and manage the escalations, technical and commercial, to the correct contacts at the vendor.
?2. Procurement Manager:
Responsible for all procurement in the EMEA region of the company. Teamlead of 3 buyers to take care of all purchase requests.
?3. Facility Manager:
Responsible of all facilities and requirements in the EMEA region for Ubizen and Cybertrust: Managing offices, procurement of all office supplies and goods for internal use and data centers.
After being part of Verizon Business, I have supported the integration of my resposibilities and team into the global organisation of Verizon.
B. January 1998 - April 2001: Philips Commercial Activities.
As the Belgian/Luxembourg Service Manager of the Business Unit "Philips Business Communications" - specialised in the distribution, installation and maintenance of digital communication systems and networks - my responsibilities were situated in following domains:
Management of all the Service Operations and to define and realise the budgets in orders, turnover and profit of the Service Department.
Tasks:
- Realisation team was responsible for the installation of all the projects.
- The Field Service team took care of all maintenance and repair actions of the installed systems.
- The Logistics team: management of the warehouse and just-in-time deliveries from the manufactory and vendors for Sales and Service.
C. June 1994 - December 1997: LCI Computer Import.
Service & Support Manager:
As Manager of the Belgian Product Service division, it was my mission to transform the service department from a single product experience to a specialised crew in service and support in the IT world: Windows NT - Unix - Networks - Communication - Consultancy - Servers - PCs - Printers and Peripherals.
As manager of this autonomous business unit, my responsibility included the daily direction and responsibilities for all commercial and financial budgets and P&L of the business unit.
