In first instance, I am a first class software developer with more than 15 years of software development experience. I?ve mainly worked on embedded and PC software applications, using C, C++ and Java. Platform independent applications, networks and hardware/device oriented software are my main areas of expertise.
In the last 5 years I moved more and more towards management and technical consultancy to share my knowledge with development teams. I have worked in small companies and large multi-nationals. All of these jobs have given me the necessary knowhow and experience to deal with complex software projects, even with multiple nternational development teams.
My technical expertise lays in the designing and development of network based applications (client/server), PC- and embedded applications that talk to hardware devices or machines and platform independent software architectures and new technologies.
I also like researching and applying new technologies and finding creative solutions for oftware products. All in all, the research serves the goal of building innovative and better products. So, my research is rather pragmatic then academic.
My management skills lay in managing multiple - international - software development projects and teams. This means coaching the teams, people management, sharing technical expertise, driving the teams to higher levels, ... My management style is rather pragmatic
and team (people) oriented, using agile methodologies. I know most common project management methodologies, and I apply them in a practical way: I use the components and parts that are interesting for the specific projects, not necessarily the complete procedure book.
My main areas of interests for possible jobs are:
- R&D management
- Technical consultancy
- Project management
- Product management
I?m interested in full-time job offerings (employed) or contracts as a freelancer.
