Support Analyst

I have 5 years of solid background in IT working for Atos Origin Singapore as a Support Analyst and for Bank of the Philippine Islands working as an Associate IT Specialist.  I finished my double degree in Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, as a Bachelor of Science, Major in both Physics and Computer Engineering.

My previous work was for Atos Origin Singapore Pte. Ltd. as a Support Analyst for CardLink Product Support. CardLink is a mainframe credit card system that is widely used in banks in Asia. My job entails communicating with CardLink customers regarding their queries, problems and other concerns with the product. It includes answering their questions and doing investigations on problems such as interest calculations, screen errors, program abnormal ends and the like. If program bugs are found, I would create corrections in the base program. The patch I made to correct the bugs is tested on our company's side, to make sure that they will work as needed and would not conflict to existing base. This solution would then be given to customer for them to review and once they find it satisfactory changes will be applied to the system.

Prior to this I have worked as a programmer as well for Atos Origin Singapore and for Bank of the Philippine Island. This has given me a solid hold on my programming and analytical skills. I have worked for various projects that has strengthened my skills in COBOL and CICS in the mainframe environment.

I am very much interested in developing my skill as a programmer, on COBOL, CICS or other languages. Product support is also something I'm interested in doing because it enhances a lot of my skills and its not just plain programming but also requires interaction with other people as well as problem solving and analysis. I'm interested in expanding my horizon on other career options and I am interested in learning new skills. I believe it is important to strengthen skills as well as learning new things.
