Senior SAP Project / Programmme Manager

Location: Brasschaat, Belgium

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am really interested in a position as ?Senior SAP Project / Programme manager' and so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.

I have been working in IT for over 27 years and during that period I have successfully held position varying from System designer to team leader, Global SME (Subject Matter Expert), Project/Programme manager, Senior manager while working for major Global organizations, i.e. DOW Chemical, PwC, NEC, etc. representing a variety of industries (e.g. Chemical / Pharmaceutical / Automotive / Manufacturing - Aluminum - / Manufacturing - Electrical equipment - / Oil / Clearing Banking / Telecoms).

For the past 19 years I have been mainly managing SAP projects, acquiring considerable hands-on experience in Supply-Chain management, Project-scope definition, Budgeting (i.e. definition & control), Vendor management (i.e. evaluation/selection, contract-negotiation), Project-team management (i.e. definition, allocation, retention, conflict-mgt), Blueprint (Template definition and design) and RFQ/RFP (Request For Quotation/ Request For Proposal).

Throughout my career I have been committed to offering excellent service to my clients (internal as well as external) while being a strong team player and a good example to my colleagues. Over the past 12 years I was fortunate to successfully manage numerous SAP projects, ranging from ?Greenfield? implementations to global Roll-outs and Upgrades, working with multi-cultural teams (ranging from 4 to 70 people) in different parts of the globe and using best-of-breed project-methodologies (DowMap, ASAP, Prince2, PMI PMBoK).

I strongly believe that my past experiences, as well as my core competencies, fulfill the majority of the requirements for this position and my participation would add value to such a challenging assignment.

This is a sample of what my peers think about me and my work (contact details can be provided upon request):

1.     Person 1

"xxx provided excellent leadership during his time at Baker Hughes. He demonstrated in depth knowledge of SAP and successful ways to deploy and support solutions which add business value. He was able to forge very good working relationships across different cultures, adapting his management style as and when necessary. He also demonstrated patience, tenacity and was a pleasure to work with.?

2.     Person 2

"During xxx's assignment he was very focused on his mission, keeping costs under control and service levels high. He managed a difficult SAP upgrade and Unicode conversion within the boundaries set by the company. The project was finished within budget and within the desired timeframe, a time frame which was more than challenging!"

3.     Person 3

"xxx is a committed professional with extensive experience in program and project management. During the period I worked for him, he successfully promoted and implemented a range of services and solutions for major clients. I have no hesitation in recommending xxx for his leadership skills, professionalism, enthusiasm and ability to motivate and deliver."

4.     Person 4

"xxx was a pleasure to work with. His knowledge and dedication to the projects that we have worked together has been admirable and truly appreciated. At all times, he was shown is commitment, dedication and professionalism when facing challenges. If he makes a commitment, it will be honoured/met. I have often relied on xxx  for his keen insight, sound judgment and ability to see the "big picture". A great team player.

5.     Person 5

I have been working with xxx, when I was Associated Partner at CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) responsible for the Telco sector for Consulting and SI activities:

I have worked with xxx when his role was Program Manager at Belgacom, for the SAP related Transformations.

It has been a pleasure to work with him, from contract negotiation - where xxx has fiercely and shrewdly defended his client interest while seeking balanced agreement - towards project delivery, management, governance (incl. SteerCo) and successful completion (just under budget and in time).

xxx possesses the qualities and skills that make project succeed: focus, business understanding and ability to bridge business and IT constraints, people management, priority management, common sense, drive.

His experience and track of record in IT program management, in general, and SAP related knowledge in particular make him a strong asset for succeeding challenging programs.

I look forward to working with xxx again.
